It seems that there is a lot of information today about who is doing what in terms of donating to political candidates. People would think that it wouldn’t matter where the money to continue any campaign comes from as long as there are sufficient monies available to continue toward the end goal. The truth is that it matters a great deal. People really pay attention to this stuff and who we align ourselves with is extremely important.
While it is ok for one single person to fund a candidate, it doesn’t always mean that it is a good thing. With money so hard to come by it is tempting for candidates to accept money from just about anyone, as long as that person is not involved in anything illegal. But will there be special favors expected if that candidate is elected. That is not the way it is supposed to be but it seems that special favors always happen.
The current American administration is not innocent when it comes to special favors and deals with certain donors. The administration was and is funded and supported greatly by the unions who pretty much always get their way in terms of anything they want to do. This is why is seems more than hypocritical that campaign funds from donors who operate casinos are considered bad. It’s true that there is always the chance that casino operators will expect special favors but then doesn’t anyone who donates large sums to a candidate?
It is going to be very interesting to see what comes out of all of this, if anything at all. People do have the right to donate as much as they want to but it seems as if exercising that right will always come at a price, depending of course on which side of the isle you are sitting. Everyone has their opinions on the matter and as time goes on we will probably see more monies coming in from people and businesses that might make some people’s hair stand on end, to both sides of the presidential race.
The bottom line is that what is good for one party should be good for the next. One needs to always look deeper and when they look at reality they will see that in today’s world money is money. Taking money from a casino owner to fund a political campaign should not be that big of a deal, but of course no matter what there will always be people who will find something wrong with it just as there are those who will spin things to be bad even if they are the best thing going.
It seems that today we see more people concerned with getting their way than we see people who want to do the right thing; or have the public’s best interest in mind. It seems like there is always some battle going on and much of it is all about who is going to win. In the end the people are the ones who lose. If donors get special favors because they donated then that is bad and should be dealt with but in order to do that one must look at what is happening right in front of them before they look to what might happen in the future.
i think that because that casino is under investigation he could have a more difficult time over these donations.
who cares where the money comes from, churches would take donations from them… it all belongs to god anyway.
This could be a problem for him as the campaign goes on.
